SIGNIFICANCE OF PROJECT: Plans call for 15 residential units, plus five tuck-under parking spaces. The main floor will hold an office, restrooms, laundry space, bike storage, trash receptacles and three units (two studios and one one-bedroom). The second and third floors will each have six units (four studios and two one-bedrooms). All units will be affordable for people between 60 percent and 80 percent area median income (AMI), and serve veterans, Native Americans and low-income individuals who are homeless and/or diagnosed with persistent mental health issues. The project was awarded $1.2 million in combined funding from Oregon Housing and Community Services. An Earth Advantage Multifamily gold rating will be sought.

Luke-Dorf is a nonprofit community mental health agency. It serves more than 800 adults diagnosed with mental illness across 35 locations in the Portland-metro area. The comprehensive support system includes outpatient clinics, group homes, semi-independent housing, and homeless outreach and peer-delivered programs.
