The City of Bandon has finally been able to award the Oregon Avenue Sewer Replacement project that bid on July 14, 2009. The project was originally put out to bid by the City of Bandon in August of 2006.

Well, THAT’S Gotta Be Embarrassing…

In the Monday, July 13th edition of our newspaper was a legal ad that contained a list of 鈥淐ontractors Ineligible to Receive Public Works Contracts鈥. There were 20 company names (bold black letters), addresses and 鈥楧ate Placed鈥 and 鈥楻emoval Date鈥 listed, all neatly arranged in alphabetical order. The ad took up about a third of the page.

Bigger is better . . . even for solar energy

A 400-acre solar park is coming to the Pacific Northwest. Unfortunately, its location won鈥檛 be Oregon. Instead, the Teanaway Solar Reserve, owned and managed by a private solar energy company, is planned for a spread of land in Washington state. Specificially, near Cle Elum, about 80 miles southeast of Seattle.
