ACE Academy prepares to graduate second class
The Academy for Architecture, Construction and Engineering, is preparing to graduate its second class, 54 students, next month. The public charter school provides a part-time, hands-on high school program for juniors and seniors interested careers in the building industry.
Professionals to students: Yes, you do want my job
The ACE Mentor Program brings high school students to local firms to learn from building industry professionals. Organizers say the program doesn't intend to teach the students about the field, but to show them how it can be a viable career path.
New students, especially girls, wanted at ACE Academy
Facing a 1:14 student ratio of males to females, ACE Academy, the charter school for careers in the built industry, added a new twist to its spring break "Taste of ACE" program. The program, to which high school students are invited to try out the school, held a special event just for girls.

BOLI funds career programs at ACE Academy
ACE Academy will have an additional week to introduce high school students to highway construction careers, thanks to a $19,974 grant from Oregon's Bureau of Labor and Industries.
