Portland Nordstrom exterior upgraded
The exterior of the Nordstrom store in downtown Portland is getting a small upgrade. Replacement of the canopy roof along the Southwest Broadway side of the clothing store is nearly done.
Portland firms join to boost minority contracting
R&H Construction and Colas Construction have formed a new company, R&H/Colas Construction, to focus on opening doors to disadvantaged and minority-owned businesses in the private sector.
OHSU child care center under construction
A child care center for Oregon Health & Science University is being created in Portland’s South Waterfront District. A former 20,000-square-foot warehouse at 3325 S.W. Moody Ave. is getting a new roof and an upgraded exterior as well as a reception area, classrooms, offices and an indoor play area.
Advantis Credit Union building
Most of the old Advantis Credit Union building in Southeast Portland was demolished, and the remaining structure is being renovated. A new, two-story addition will house offices and a support center on the second floor.
Dr. Martens store
There will be a new Dr. Martens footwear store in Portland’s Pearl District. Renovation is underway on a 5,000-square-foot space at the corner of West Burnside and Northwest 10th Avenue.
OHSU child care center
A former warehouse at 3325 S.W. Moody Ave. in Portland’s South Waterfront District is being transformed into a day care center. The 20,000-square-foot building will house the Oregon Health & Science University child care center that will be operated by Portland-based Children’s Creative Learning Centers.
Construction jobs increase

Martha Washington Building
Work is continuing on an extensive renovation of the five-story Martha Washington Building at 1115 S.W. 11th Ave. in downtown Portland. The building will have 108 affordable housing units, including half for homeless and chronically mentally ill people.
