Riverdale Grade School

When completed in late summer, the two-story Riverdale Grade School will have two dozen classrooms, a computer lab, an art room, a library and offices. The separate multi-purpose building will have a community room, kitchen and a renovated gymnasium.

When Pedersen Elementary School is completed in late summer, the new 65,000-square-foot school at 52050 S.E. Third St. will have 21 classrooms, a cafeteria, a gymnasium, a kitchen, a media room, staff and administration offices and a covered play area.

Merge building

Work on the Merge, a three-story, mixed-use structure in Southeast Portland, is well under way. The new building, when it is completed this summer, will have 8,000 square feet of retail space, one residential unit on the ground floor and 12 units on the upper floors.

Rivermark Community Credit Union

This fall, when the project is completed, the two-story 8,700-square-foot credit union at 2537 S.E. Hawthorne Blvd. will feature six indoor teller stations, loan and account offices, a drive-through lane and a walk-up teller station.

When it is completed in the spring, the six-story Broadstone Enso will have 152 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments as well as ground-level office and retail space. The courtyard also features a breezeway, a community barbecue area and artwork.

Hayden Island

Cook Engine, a boat supply and repair company, is having its old wooden dock replaced with a steel one. The dock accommodates a drive-out crane that removes and installs engines and generators on sail boats and yachts up to 60 feet in length.

Tualatin River Bridge

A new bridge over the Tualatin River south of Lake Oswego is nearly complete. The bridge will be 445 feet long and 54 feet wide. It will have two traffic lanes and bike and pedestrian lanes on both sides.

Zoomtopia

An art and dance studio in Southeast Portland will have a grand opening celebration Jan. 28. The 10,000-square-foot former home of an electronics business was renovated extensively and is hoped to become a community for creative enterprises.

Constructing Hope

Volunteers worked with Constructing Hope, a pre-apprenticeship construction program in Northeast Portland. They helped improve electrical safety at several projects, including a Salvation Army building in North Portland.
