Beaverton City Library branch opens
A former auditorium space in Beaverton has been renovated to become the first branch in the Beaverton City Library system. The 7,000-square-foot library at 11200 S.W. Murray Scholls Place retained its interior wood structure and ceiling, and received lighting improvements.
Northwest Portland complex gets upgrade
A seven-residence complex in Northwest Portland is getting an exterior upgrade. Porches are being replaced in the front and the rear of the multifamily development at the corner of Northwest Thurman Street and 25th Avenue.
Scappoose High School getting remodel
A remodel and addition are under way at Scappoose High School. The remodel, which is nearly finished, consists of numerous classroom upgrades as well as the installation of a new fire sprinkler system and a fiber-optic cable system.
Roof installed on downtown building
Crews are performing roof installation on a telecommunications building in downtown Portland.
Rose City Liquor Store building under construction
The Rose City Liquor Store will soon have new digs in Northeast Portland. A 1,300-square-foot building at the corner of Northeast Sandy Boulevard and 73rd Avenue is being renovated, and a 1,750-square-foot wood-frame addition is being built to house the business.
S.E. Hawthorne, Madison upgraded
Southeast Hawthorne Boulevard and Southeast Madison Street are being upgraded. The two roads between Grand and 12th avenues have been ground down and are being repaved.
St. Clare Parish school, gym upgraded
The school and the gymnasium at St. Clare Parish in Southwest Portland are being upgraded. The exterior of the school at 8535 S.W. 19th Ave. is getting new windows, HardiePanel siding and stucco.
Furniture store renovated to children’s center
Part of a former furniture store in downtown Lake Oswego has been renovated to become the new home of an interactive children’s center.
Lake Oswego High School renovated
Repair work is in progress at Lake Oswego High School. More than 150 windows at the school are being removed and reinstalled, and some masonry work is being performed around the openings.
McMenamins On Broadway
The McMenamins On Broadway, a Northeast Portland restaurant, is expanding. A balcony pub, with openable windows, will be added to the restaurant, which is on the second floor of a building at 1532 N.E. Broadway.
Chelsea Ballroom home to Helium Comedy Club
The historic Chelsea Ballroom in Southeast Portland is getting an extensive renovation to become the home for the Philadelphia-based Helium Comedy Club.
The Bunk Bar
A new eatery is taking shape in Southeast Portland. The Bunk Bar, at the corner of Southeast Water Avenue and Taylor Street in the Water Avenue Commerce Center, will feature food, drink and pool when it opens soon.
