Portland Transit Mall
The last of the bus shelters from the original Portland Transit Mall construction is being renovated to become a coffee cafe. Caffe Viale will operate the coffee shop that is on Southwest 5th Avenue between Salmon and Main streets.
Telegram Building
The Telegram Building in downtown Portland will soon have a new tenant. A law firm will be moving into the 8,600-square-foot fourth floor of the historic structure.
RingSide Steakhouse
Portland's RingSide Steakhouse, in business for 66 years, is being remodeled and adding 3,500-square feet that will enlarge the kitchen, create a new wine cellar and add a new dining room that can be closed off for private functions.
Oregon City awnings
A one-story building in downtown Oregon City is getting four new awnings from Rose City Awning, which was founded in Portland in 1954.
Gresham Armory
The Gresham Armory is undergoing a renovation and receiving a 1,500-square-foot addition. The exterior of the original, 13,800-square-foot structure is getting a new roof and metal siding, while the interior is getting an extensive upgrade.
Oregon Symphony
The office of the Oregon Symphony in the Pittock Building in downtown Portland is getting new flooring and paint as part of a renovation.
First Presbyterian Church
The historic First Presbyterian Church in downtown Portland is undergoing an exterior restoration in which loose pieces of stone will be removed, existing stone will be cleaned and a consolidator will be applied to strengthen and help harden the sandstone.
Sniff Dog Hotel
The Sniff Dog Hotel in Northwest Portland will soon be open to canines. The two-story business at the corner of Northwest 19th Avenue and Raleigh Street will have an indoor dog park with state-of-the-art K9Grass, grooming facilities, boarding for up to 80 dogs and a café for humans.
Hawaiian Time
A new Hawaiian restaurant is opening this week in Portland's Pearl District in the former home of a gas station. Hawaiian Time will offer Hawaiian and Asian fare at the corner of Northwest Glisan Street and 14th Avenue.
OHSU South Hospital upgrade
Vertical portions of the exterior of the Oregon Health & Science University South Hospital are getting an upgrade. EIFS is being replaced with metal panels.
Martha Washington Building
Work is continuing on an extensive renovation of the five-story Martha Washington Building at 1115 S.W. 11th Ave. in downtown Portland. The building will have 108 affordable housing units, including half for homeless and chronically mentally ill people.
Hair of the Dog Brewing Co.
Hair of the Dog Brewing Co. is getting a new home in Southeast Portland. A 10,000-square-foot warehouse built in 1935 at 61 S.E. Yamhill St. is being renovated to house a tasting room, a restaurant, a brewing area and offices.
