LRS Architects designs West Hotel, former Satyricon space
Designed by LRS Architects, the 30,754-square-foot structure will provide affordable housing in 42 studio apartments for individuals making 60 percent of median family income or less. The ground floor will accommodate an expansion for the Macdonald Center, a local nonprofit that has offices next door, at 605 N.W. Couch St.
Old hotel materials find new life
The West Hotel in Portland's Old Town Chinatown is slated to be torn down early next year. But as affordable housing rises in its place, remnants of the old brick building will reappear.
New Seasons set to open in Southeast Portland

Martha Washington Building
Work is continuing on an extensive renovation of the five-story Martha Washington Building at 1115 S.W. 11th Ave. in downtown Portland. The building will have 108 affordable housing units, including half for homeless and chronically mentally ill people.
Hewitt Place Townhomes
The Hewitt Place Townhomes' 11 fourplex buildings in Troutdale are receiving cabinetry, flooring, plumbing and electrical upgrades as part of a renovation.
Architects see increase in projects
Although a leading measure of architectural work fell to its lowest level since last summer, local firms say they're actually seeing a small increase in work.
Competitive bids expected for Gresham project
Along with a new architect, the Multnomah County-owned East County Justice Center project will have a new construction manager and general contractor in the coming months.
