TriMet has called for bids for construction manager/general contractor services to renovate the agency鈥檚 Center Street Administration Building. The renovated building will include a new, expanded Operations Command Center, as well as expanded operations facilities. The project, called 鈥淢oving Together,鈥 is estimated to cost $10 million.

Let’s save the giant baby-faced deer statue!

The Oregonian's Molly Harbarger was the bearer of bad news today: the giant baby-faced deer statue, a project in consideration as a "public art" portion of the Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail project, has been killed. Apparently the artist had to back away, so a plaza in unincorporated Clackamas County has been deprived of "Rebirth's" disturbing fantastical whimsy.

A drilling shaft is lowered into a cofferdam that will form the foundation of the Portland-Milwaukie light rail bridge's west tower. The shaft, which is around 10 feet in diameter, will be used to drill to a depth of more than 150 feet, after which drilling spoils will be removed and foundation forms will be lowered into the casing.

Workers installing 12 huge frames for new light-rail bridge

Workers are installing six 168-foot-long, 60-ton frames in the Willamette riverbed for a new bridge. The frames will be filled with concrete and will build the foundation for the west tower of the bridge that will carry Portland's new light-rail line to Milwaukie. The line will be the MAX Orange Line.
