Tonkon Torp renovates downtown offices

Renovations are under way at the law offices of Tonkon Torp LLC in downtown Portland. Three floors of the Pioneer Tower at 888 S.W. Fifth Ave. are in the middle of a remodel to create community spaces, conference rooms, offices, work stations and employee lounges.

Portland’s Pearl District soon will be home to the largest women’s swimwear store in the Northwest. Popina Swimwear, designed and manufactured in Oregon by Pamela and Will Levenson, will be one of 25 brands sold in the new store.

Roof replaced on Dutch Village Building

The Dutch Village Building in Northeast Portland's Beaumont neighborhood is getting a new roof. Underlayment, flashing and some tile pieces are being replaced, and new asphalt shingles are being installed on the historic, two-story structure at the corner of Northeast 41st Avenue and Fremont Street.

Sorority’s service station renovation under way

Work on the June Key Delta Community Center is under way. A former service station at 5940 N. Albina St. is undergoing a major renovation to become a center that will provide neighborhood meeting space, exhibition space, a community garden and space for a youth mentoring program sponsored by the Portland Alumnae chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority.

A glass gallery next month will display its artistic wares in Southeast Portland. A 2,200-square-foot space at 4132 S.E. Hawthorne St. is being renovated to suit the Mellow Mood Gallery.

Outside In building out

Outside In is a nonprofit organization in downtown Portland that helps improve the health of homeless youth and marginalized people as they move toward self-sufficiency. The organization's building at 1132 S.W. 13th Ave. will soon have another 1,300 square feet of clinic space as well as remodeled halls.

Sorority renovates former gas station

A former gas station in North Portland is being converted into a community center. The Portland chapter of the predominantly African-American sorority Delta Sigma Theta purchased the property at 5940 N. Albina St. nearly two decades ago with the plan of developing it for the community.

Portland Nordstrom exterior upgraded

The exterior of the Nordstrom store in downtown Portland is getting a small upgrade. Replacement of the canopy roof along the Southwest Broadway side of the clothing store is nearly done.

The Oak Lodge Water District office in Oak Grove is in the middle of an extensive restoration. The building at 14496 S.E. River Road is getting exterior, seismic, electrical and mechanical upgrades, a new roof and interior finishes.

Bakery renovated to America’s Mattress

Work is nearly finished on a project in Northeast Portland to convert a former bakery into an America’s Mattress store. The 4,600-square-foot space at 935 N.E. Broadway has new carpet and paint as well as repaired drywall and a new ceiling grid.
