Pavilion to match iconic Lewis & Clark chapel

The octagonal shape of the Diane Gregg Memorial Pavilion on the campus of Lewis & Clark College in Southwest Portland matches the attached Agnes Flanagan Chapel designed by architect Paul Thiry. The open design and seating of the pavilion will accommodate campus activities and community gatherings for up to 150 people.

Career Day held at ZGF Architects

Fifty students from the Portland area participated in the sixth annual ZGF Career Day at the Portland architectural firm's downtown offices. During the daylong event, students were given a tour of the firm's offices and then taken on a walking tour highlighting the various types of architecture and design used in downtown buildings.

Buildings renovated for Oregon Route 99W work

A 3,000-square-foot space on Southwest Pacific Highway will become a Brake Team store. A tire store in the same commercial development is being remodeled after it yielded some space so that Southwest Greenberg Road could be widened as part of the Oregon Route 99W project for the city of Tigard, Washington County and the Oregon Department of Transportation.

Children’s hospital at Emanuel topped out

Ironworkers from Local 29 set the beam after a ceremony attended by dozens of supporters of the nine-story, 330,000-square-foot Children's Hospital at Legacy Emanuel in North Portland. The hospital is expected to be completed in 2012 and hold 165 private rooms, a 22-bed day surgery unit, a pediatric intensive care unit and a neonatal intensive care unit.

Social service building under way in East Portland

The three-story, 75,000-square-foot steel and wood-frame Rockwood Building on Southeast 181st Avenue is expected to be completed in summer 2011 and have 47 residential units, a kitchen and facilities for eight social service agencies.

Outside In building out

Nursing school at Adventist Medical Center expanding

The Walla Walla School of Nursing at the Adventist Medical Center in Southeast Portland now has a lecture hall, an attached lobby and a patio. The school at 10345 S.E. Market St. also has a renovated kitchen and additional storage space.
