2 health care businesses opening in downtown Portland
Two new businesses are going into a space at 714 S.W. Washington St. when a renovation wraps up. Any Lab Test Now! and In Shape MD will take up residence by the end of February.
Chaucer Court Apartments being renovated
Renovation work is beginning on the Chaucer Court Apartments in downtown Portland. The 84-unit senior housing residence is in the Odd Fellows Building, a structure built in 1924 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
McMenamins Crystal Hotel renovation wrapping up
When work wraps up this spring, the McMenamins Crystal Hotel, a four-story, triangular building at the corner of Southwest Stark Street and 12th Avenue, will have 51 rooms on the upper floors, a restaurant on the ground level and a spa and bar in the basement.
Hush Hush Caf茅 expanding
The Hush Hush Caf茅 is expanding in the Washington Center in downtown Portland. Work on an adjoining storefront will more than double the dining space for the Middle Eastern/Mediterranean restaurant.
Woonwinkel opening in downtown Portland
Woonwinkel, a modern home furnishings company that features the work of North American and European designers, will occupy a 1,500-square-foot space in downtown Portland.
North Portland dentist office renovated
Renovation work is under way at a dentist's office in North Portland. The brick building constructed in the 1950s at the corner of North Lombard Street and John Avenue will receive a new roof, storefront and windows.
Grocery Outlet coming to St. Johns
The St. Johns neighborhood in North Portland will soon have a Grocery Outlet store at the site of a former automobile dealership.
Wattles Boys & Girls Club renovated
The Wattles Boys & Girls Club in Portland is getting an interior renovation and a 3,000-square-foot addition. When work wraps up in about a month, the building at the corner of Southeast 92nd Avenue and Harold Street will have a new weight room, dance studio, yoga room and maintenance facility.
Hatfield Building getting cleaned up
The Mark O. Hatfield Building in downtown Portland is in the middle of an exterior renovation. Concrete at the seven-story, affordable apartment building at 204 S.W. Eighth Ave. is being patched and cleaned.
Kettleman Bagel opening Northeast Portland store
A new store for the Kettleman Bagel Co. will soon open in Northeast Portland. The bagel bakery and restaurant, founded in 2006, will open its fourth location at 2200 N.E. Broadway.
Portland water line relocated
A crew from Emery & Sons Construction is relocating a Tualatin Valley Water District water line on Southwest 77th Avenue. The work is part of the garden home segment of the Fanno Pump Station and pressure sewer improvements for the Portland Bureau of Environmental Services.
Downtown Portland ramp rebuilt
The second floor of a two-story building at 528 S.W. 12th Ave. is used for overflow parking for a nearby hotel.
